Two new conveyors, supplied and installed by Moody Fastpack, have improved efficiency and reduced maintenance costs for Daniel Thwaites brewery in Blackburn.

The modular belt elevator conveyor, with swan-neck design, and pack-spacer belt conveyor use rubber gripping strips to transport finished can packs with greater efficiency and reliability.

Denzil Roberts, Maintenance Manager at Daniel Thwaites, Blackburn said: "We approached Moody Fastpack as our previous rubber belt systems were requiring high levels of maintenance and the spare parts were difficult to source. We often had problems with the belt mis-tracking which would cause considerable downtime whilst new belts were being fitted."

Tony Barkway, Managing Director, Moody Fastpack added: "We worked closely with Daniel Thwaites to analyse the operation and specify equipment which would improve its overall effectiveness. The new conveyors are both cost-effective and flexible to allow for changes in production or company expansion."

Denzil Roberts concludes: "By replacing our old conveyors with more technologically-advanced systems, all of our issues have been resolved which has also resulted in improved productivity."
