One
of the UK's leading sauce manufacturers has recently appointed
Moody Systems to design, install and commission two completely
new tubular pasteurisation systems, a contract worth over
£3/4 million.

The process plant which incorporates two tubular heat exchangers
with fully automated pigging systems, will not only introduce
massive savings on process time, but has the added benefit
of huge improvements in the quality of the finished product.
The tubular heat exchanger is especially beneficial for products
with vegetable pieces or chunks, as it will reduce the damage
to these and therefore create the much-desired authentic appearance
to the finished product.
Moody Systems Technical Manager, Peter Kirk, comments, 'We
have introduced this process system to several customers recently
and find that the huge demand from end-users for quality produce
in turn increases the pressure on manufacturers. The tubular
heat exchangers can deliver quality finished products, and
the manufacturers can satisfy the needs in the market'.
The pigging system incorporated into the two plants ensures
complete product recovery and virtually no maintenance. This
is particularly important on a tubular plant of this size,
as at any given moment, the plant in question may have up
to 6 tons of finished product in the system. All of this can
now be recovered automatically, the cleaning can take place
in minutes, and the plant ready for production again.
