LITTLE MELTON GOURMET YOGURT

When Little Melton Yogurt  first approached Moody Systems for help, their plan to produce large volumes of the ultimate gourmet yogurt experience to an old family recipe was no more than a little twinkle in their eyes.

Over the ensuing months, as the plan developed, Moody Systems helped put together a design for a state-of-the-art batch production plant that would allow Little Melton to produce up to 10 tonnes per day of their ultra-premium quality product, without compromising the artisan nature of the highest-quality yogurt.

Moody pre-constructed the entire system in their workshops at Retford; new blending and incubation tanks
were manufactured,  plate heat exchangers were designed.

Access platforms for operators were fabricated and a new control panel was designed and built to run the
whole system from a central location.

All the major components were hygienically welded with seamless dairy tubing, and the power and signal
systems were wired together with concealed cabling.

After Little Melton had pronounced the system working to their satisfaction, the complete plant was carefully
dis-assembled for shipment to the new factory that was beginning to take shape in deepest Norfolk.

Just a few days after arrival on site the system was up and running, fully commissioned and starting to produce
the first batches of Blueberry, Honeyed, Pear and Passionfruit gourmet yogurt that now grace the shelves of
Harrods and other premium delicatessens throughout the UK.
