MILESTONE FOR MOODY CHIEF EXECUTIVE

MALCOLM WILKINSON CELEBRATES 25 YEARS SERVICE

Moody Chief Executive Malcolm Wilkinson
celebrates a quarter of a century with the
company this year. He reveals why he
continues to thrive on the Moody way of
doing business.

"The business we are in today is very different
to the marketplace we were serving 25 year ago. Every town had a dairy, and many had a soft drinks factory or perhaps even a brewery. Most of the dairies which were our customers have closed, and there are fewer but bigger and faster facilities. Moody was originally focused on supplying equipment to the dairy industry, but now this accounts for only half of our business.

"Consolidation meant we had to find and develop new areas and opportunities;
and that’s just what we have done. We are constantly re-positioning the
business to suit the marketplace and this has given me an immensely challenging and satisfying career to date.

"We have been through many ups and downs, but there’s always something in
the pipeline. It’s much more than just a job."

Malcolm joined the company as a trainee technical sales engineer. His talents
were quickly spotted and within five years he was a director of the company. He has been managing director for the past 10 years and rates his relationship with
chairman Paul Moody as one of the reasons for his dedication to developing the
business.

While many young professionals climb the career ladder by moving employer,
Malcolm says the success he achieved in the early part of his tenure coupled
with the type of work he was doing – including travelling the world – kept him
from seeing if the grass was greener elsewhere.
